Last night I saw Little Miss Sunshine, which is an indie film picked up by Fox and released in select theaters. I am not sure when it came out, but it was still showing at the Beechwood Theater here in Athens, GA. I must say it was one of the best movies I have seen in a while. It is a dark comedy involving a dysfunctional family who lives in Albuquerque, NM and travel to California so their daughter can compete in the Little Miss Sunshine beauty pageant. It is sort of a darker National Lampoon’s Summer vacation with well developed characters and a solid script. I would highly recommend going to see it before it gets out of theaters, or at least on DVD.
