The past week has been rather busy and tiring for me. Last Tuesday I had an interview with the Board of Regents of The University System of Georgia. They are over 35 universties in Georgia and set the policies and standards of those universities. I was interviewed for a Customer Service Specialist II position. I believe my interview went well, and even received a call the next day which makes things look promising. I will probably find out next week if I got the job or not, I am trying not to worry about it, and by now I am used to rejection. As a Customer Support Specialist it will be my job to help manage the Frontline Helpdesk of the OIIT (Office of Information and Instructional Technology) We will be supporting services that keep the universities running (Galileo, Banner, PeopleSoft, WebCT, and PeachNET; which is the backbone internet connection of the university system). I would also be required to be on call 24/7 one week a month, but thankfully I would have a laptop with a broadband card and a beeper so I can do my work from anywhere I am. I would also write SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) and modify current ones as better ways of doing things are found. Hopefully I will have a happy update next week.
It last been really busy at work lately, and it seems people are finally realizing they need things done or fixed the second week of the semester. I have basically been running around all day at work taking care of people’s needs and coming home and crashing. I don’t mind being kept busy because it makes time go faster, but maybe I am just out of shape :(.
This weekend should be fun, I am going to see the Bodies Exhibit in Atlanta with my friend Donovan who just recently moved to Atlanta from Athens. I am going to go see VAST tonight at the Masqerade, crashing at his house tonight and going to go see Bodies Exhibit tomorrow and then go eat some dead bodies (Chinese food) to make it a complete day.
Last night I saw the I am the World Trade Center’s farrwell show at the 40 Watt along with Maserati. It was a fun and sad show and I had a great time! Stay tuned for photos. Maserati amazes me each time I see them.
